30 years GZSZ – Gerner may live on – and kisses YOU

That just went well.

You don’t have to GZSZ fan be to know HIM: Joachim “Jo” Gerner, played by Wolfgang Bahro (61) is a veteran of TV soaps. RTL shocked the fans with an ominous announcement about the anniversary episode: it was shown Funeral of Gernera serial death seemed almost certain.

Spectacular escape from Linostrami

The 30th anniversary episode got off to an ominous start: Gladlystill accused of the murder of Miriam Behnke, went into hiding to escape her father Bajan Linostrami.

He resorted to a feint and staged Gerner’s meeting with Yvonne’s unsuspecting daughter Laura. After a chase, Jo’s fate seemed sealed: his car caught fire and survival seemed almost impossible.

But the clever lawyer had taken precautions and placed a stolen corpse on the driver’s seat before the accident. While friends and family were already mourning his death, Gerner continued his escape.

The persecuted person then found help in his ex-wife Catherine and leon, who gave him protection in his boat on the Baltic Sea. Katrin had already taken precautions: “A driver will take you to Tbilisi. And from there you fly to Montevideo.”

She had also taken care of the body stolen from a hearse and bribed the undertaker – as well as a pathologist to confirm that the dead person was Gerner.

Love comeback with Katrin?

In the meantime, the tormented lawyer was getting worse and worse after a grazing shot – and that suddenly seemed to awaken long-buried feelings! Gerner was gripped by remorse on the sickbed, which he urgently wanted to show Katrin: “With everything we endured together, there is one thing that I really regret: that I played Johanna’s death for you at the time. That was cruel!”

But Katrin had long since forgiven him and confessed: “I’ll miss you, Jo.” A long, tender kiss followed – and an emotional farewell the next morning. Katrin also had appointments: “I have to go then too – to your funeral.”

But Gerner changed his plans at short notice and informed his driver: “The destination has changed.” The tough lawyer had decided to secretly attend his own funeral, at the one with the ignorant, and especially with his wife Yvonne, who tears flowed. In the meantime, Laura has bitterly accused herself of having sent Gerner to ruin: “I didn’t want him to die!”

Finale with a happy ending for Gerner – for the time being

Gerner’s next station: an event by YvoMed (a company Gerner, which is supposed to research a cure for the blind Yvonne). Happy to see Jo alive before him, John smuggled the dead man into the event hall in the Natural History Museum – where Yvonne suddenly appeared arm in arm with Linostrami.

Outrage at Katrin: “She lets him harness her?” But Yvonne hadn’t thrown herself at her husband’s archenemy without a plan, but instead gambled Linostrami’s cell phone to secure evidence.

Unsuspectingly, he started with a lecture until suddenly a baby photo was shown and Gerner’s voice rang out: “A charming little girl just wants time with her father. But at some point Miriam had to understand who her father really is: a criminal, a murderer! Your own daughter despised you, defied you. And that tore you up! So much so that you preferred to shoot her. How was it when you pulled the trigger? When Miriam fell to the ground bleeding? They killed her, her own daughter!”

Linostrami now interrupted him – and thus confessed to the crime: “Because you incited Miriam against me!”

Video evidence of the murder then sealed the villain’s fate – he was arrested immediately.

But the hardships had taken its toll on Gerner: he fainted and only got back on his feet with difficulty.

Viewers will only find out how he copes with this in the next episode, which could be the prelude to another 30 years of “Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten”.
