Acer Launches New Big Screen Chromebooks with 11th Generation Intel Core

During an event held this Wednesday (13), the Acer announced several products to compose its portfolio, and among them are the new Chromebooks that must meet different user profiles, from the less demanding ones to those who use them for work or studies. They are four different variants, all equipped with the latest processors on the market, such as Intel 11th generation Core i7, plus other features.

Acer Chromebook Spin 514

With the most robust datasheet and the most compact and convertible design, the Acer Chromebook Spin 514 e Spin Enterprise 514 it has its own type of construction to keep the internal temperature within the standards, even without the need for heat dissipation through ventilation.

In both cases, the screen is composed of a 14-inch IPS LCD panel with Full HD resolution. There are also thin edges that guarantee a frontal utilization of 84%, in addition to a 1080p camera dedicated for videoconferences in work and study meetings. In the internal department, Acer used high-performance processors such as Intel 11th generation Core i7.

Among the main additional features, we have an upward-facing speaker system that, together with the DTS audio which is capable of reproducing high quality surround sound and noise attenuation. It is possible to find both models with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage NVMe.

Its keyboard is also backlit and, due to its superior size, it has a numeric pad that makes typing easier for those who type a lot of numbers. They also feature Corning Gorilla Glass protection, have two USB-C 3.2 ports for supported charging and data transfer, a HDMI port and a microSD card reading slot.

Acer Chromebook 514

The Acer Chromebook 514 is a more affordable option among the brand’s new devices, and to remain among the best cost-effective options, it focuses on a technical sheet that prioritizes energy efficiency. For example, the chosen processor is the MediaTek Company 828, an octa-core that integrates the Mali-G57 GPU and operates at frequencies up to 2.2 GHz, combined with a battery that, in addition to providing fast charging, offers autonomy of up to 15 hours.

Just like the first models, your screen is 14 inches, but has multitouch support. Its body is made of aluminum, and the company highlights its weight of just 1.3 kg and thickness of 16.85 millimeters. In addition, the product offers DTS audio, backlit keyboard and USB-C ports for data transfer.

Also focusing on the accessible category, Acer Chromebook Spin 314 has as its main differential its “ecological touchpad” entirely made of recycled plastic. technology call OceanGlass, the company used a type of texture that resembles frosted glass and offers great tactile response.

But the highlight of Spin 314 goes far beyond that. It also has a 14-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD resolution, and comes equipped with Intel’s latest generation processors. Its battery, although the nominal configuration has not been revealed, offers up to 10 hours of continuous use.

When connecting, we can highlight the presence of two USB-A 3.2 ports, one HDMI port and a microSD card reading slot. Like its “brothers”, it offers support for Wi-Fi 6 and MU-MIMO 2×2 wireless technology for faster, more reliable connections.

Price and availability

All four new Acer Chromebook models will be released across the Europe, except for Chromebook 515 which will also be available on North America. The expectation is that they will reach the showcases from this month, but some may only arrive in January 2022.
