Jennifer Coolidge (61) recently won her first Emmy for her portrayal of Tanya McQuoid in the HBO series “The White Lotus”.
She is previously known for her roles as Steve Stifler’s mother in the “American Pie” series, and as Paulette Bonafonté in “Legally Blond”.
In a new interview, she reveals details from the recording for the HBO series.
Rushed to the hospital
“The White Lotus” series is filmed in Hawaii, and Coolidge wanted to do the little extra before filming started.
– I didn’t want to look like a big, white marshmallow on the beach. That’s why I took a spray tan, so I would be a little browner in Hawaii, she says to Allure, reproduced by Entertainment Weekly. The case is also discussed by NTB and several American media.
After she got on the plane to Hawaii, she suddenly realized that something was wrong.
– I started to feel very strange. When I got off the plane, I had to go straight to the emergency room.
After the visit to the emergency room, she quickly found out that it was an allergic reaction that was causing the discomfort.
In retrospect, the actress has found out that it is not just spray tan that she is allergic to, but also regular make-up.
– It is only in the last five or six years that I have become allergic, says Coolidge.
Further in the interview, she says that the allergic reaction contributed to the production team changing several of the products they used on Coolidge during the recording.
– The moment we finished filming for the day, I went into the shower. I react so quickly to products now.
Jennifer Coolidge claims she has slept with hundreds of men after the iconic role. Watch the video below to see what role she’s aiming for:
