On December 19th at 8 p.m., Gregorian Grace will ring in the festive season with a Christmas performance in St. Nicolai Church.

As part of the Christmas Tour 2022, the ensemble is treading a new path this year. The celebratory singing accompaniment of a pre-Christmas evening is delivered, in which not the choir, but a theater ensemble around the well-known Hamburg actor Thorsten Hamer is in the foreground. Through the combination of reading, drama, stories and ballads, the guests are whisked away to an atmospheric, festive literary evening. Young and old are solemnly attuned to the festival with musical and vocal accompaniment.

From pure recitation to a lively theater scene, the actors offer everything that constitutes the great art of storytelling. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the story of the sorcerer’s apprentice or the suretyship, of Herr von Ribbeck or the servant Ruprecht, excerpts from works by Goethe, Schiller, Brecht and Heine or humorous stories by Ringelnatz, Roth and Morgenstern. Embedded in the solemn ambience of the most beautiful churches in Germany and emotionally accompanied by Gregorian GRACE through world-famous Christmas carols, “Glanz der Christmas” offers the audience a unique acting and concert experience in this combination.

Enjoy a wonderful and festive attunement to the best time of the year!
