World Cup hero Mario Götze knocks, Lucas Alario should follow. At least if everything goes according to plan. Eintracht Frankfurt is currently upgrading properly for the Champions League. The current squad is obviously not enough. There are other top players on the wish list.

Alario should strengthen offensive

Eintracht Frankfurt is far from enough on the transfer market. Apparently, the club wants to start with a hammer squad at the start of the Champions League. With the official signing of Mario Götze on Tuesday, the club secured the eighth known new signing for the coming season.

Talks with Lucas Alario are also said to be well advanced. According to media reports, it should already be certain that the Leverkusen striker will join Eintracht.

But the Europa League winner apparently still doesn’t have enough. For the premier class, the club would like to sign another ex-BVB star.

Weigl could come from Lisbon

Noisy “Frankfurter Rundschau” Eintracht has a specific eye on Julian Weigl. A transfer is not unlikely. The midfielder joined Benfica from Borussia Dortmund in 2020 but is now said to be planning to leave the club.

During his two years with the Portuguese, the 26-year-old midfielder made 111 appearances. According to the report, he should not be averse to a change towards Eintracht. Finally, a transfer could also increase his chances of qualifying for the World Cup.

However, there could be a problem: His contract with Lisbon runs until 2024. An earlier commitment could cost the Frankfurters a hell of a lot of money. A release clause of 100 million is anchored in his contract. However, this amount has more symbolic value. However, the report states that “if the payment was reasonable, the Hessians would be in business”.

For a Weigl deal, Frankfurt would have to stretch itself in any case. However, the midfielder could be worthwhile for Eintracht. In the international cup competitions (Europe and Champions League), the 26-year-old has played a total of 62 duels. So Weigl has enough experience to advance the SBU.

After a year and a half in Formula 1, Mick Schumacher is still waiting for his first world championship points. Most recently in Canada, he was able to secure a better starting position than ever before with sixth place, but on lap 20 his vehicle went on strike and Schumacher once again retired without a point.
