Algeria ranked third in Africa in terms of oil producing countries in the current month of November.
Indeed, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) declared in its monthly report that Algeria’s oil production during the current month amounted to one million and 60 thousand barrels, to arrive at the third place in Africa.
Libya topped the list of African countries, producing one million and 163 thousand barrels per day, followed by Angola with one million and 67 thousand barrels per day, while Nigeria moved to fourth place with one million and 24 thousand barrels per day.
Last October, Algeria ranked first in the Arab world in terms of new oil and gas discoveries in the first eight months of the current year 2022.
Oil and gas discoveries in the Arab world: Algeria takes the lead in the ranking in 2022
Indeed, the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) ranked Algeria first in the Arab world for new oil and gas discoveries during the first eight months of the current year. The organization specified in a report contained in its monthly report that Algeria recorded, from the beginning of this year until the end of last August, seven new discoveries, including four oil discoveries and three gas.
The Emirates take second place in this ranking, recording five new discoveries between January and August 2022 (3 discoveries for oil, 2 for gas), Saudi Arabia with five gas discoveries, then Egypt with two discoveries (one for oil and one for gas), as well as Syria with a gas discovery. Thus, OAPEC countries made in the first eight months of 2022 a total of 21 oil and gas discoveries.
During the second quarter of this year, OAPEC member states recorded eight new discoveries, including four in Algeria and four in the United Arab Emirates.
