Algeria weather: heat wave and storm on the agenda this May 22

Temperatures have risen significantly in recent days across the country. For this Sunday, May 22, 2022, the National Meteorological Office (ONM) has issued two weather alert bulletins (BMS).

The first BMS concerns a heat wave which will affect the following wilayas: Algiers, Blida, Tipaza, Tizi Ouzou, Chlef, Annaba, Skikda, Ain Defla, El Taref, Boumerdes, Béjaia and Relizane.

For the second alert, it will concern Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Naama, Tamanrasset, Djanet and In Guezzam.

For the eastern and central regions, the sky will be sunny with some low clouds over some wilayas.

Regarding the west of the country, the weather will generally be clear and sunny, but we will note low clouds over some wilayas, but also a stormy trend over Tlemcen and Saida.

Finally, for the south of the country, the sky will remain clear to overcast in most wilayas, except in Tamanrasset and In Guezzam where the sky will cloud over and some showers could be expected. or the sky will be quite cloudy, for this Sunday, May 22.

The temperatures for this Sunday, May 22

Regarding the mercury for this Sunday, May 22 in the north of the country, according to the ONM, the temperatures will fluctuate between 21 and 36 degrees Celsius. The wilayas of the interior will display a mercury which will record temperatures between 28 and 36 degrees Celsius. In the south of the country, temperatures will fluctuate between 30 and 42 degrees Celsius.
