AMD RDNA 3: we know the announcement date of the future Radeon RX 7000

A few hours before the announcement of the next Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards, AMD is lifting the veil on the date of the announcement of its next RDNA 3 graphics chips (GPUs) which will form the basis of the future Radeon RX 7000s.

That’s it, it’s official: AMD will unveil its new RDNA 3 architecture, the engine of the future Radeon RX 7000, on November 3. The American giant split froma laconic tweetvia Scott Herkelman: “ join us on November 3 for the launch of RDNA 3! More details to come“.

Better energy efficiency

We will therefore have to wait before learning more about the next graphics cards from AMD, Nvidia’s main competitor. AMD, however, already discussed this new architecture in June 2022 during its conference with financial analysts. The opportunity for the firm to reveal some interesting figures, with for example a 50% increase in performance per watt.

In other words, the energy efficiency should be significantly increased, in particular thanks to the transition to etching at 5 nm against 7 nm currently. Enough to integrate them into laptops without reducing their autonomy too much while maintaining good performance.

Join us on November 3rd as we launch RDNA 3 to the world! More details to come soon! #RDNA3 #AMD

Let’s also remember that the RDNA 3 architecture of the Radeon RX 7000 will be the first to benefit from the ” chiplet“on a GPU. We already find this design on the brand’s processors, the famous Zen, or Apple’s chips, the M1 and M2. This is a more modern way of designing chips, with unprecedented modularity. We also talked about it in more detail in our file dedicated to this new technology.

This announcement from AMD comes just hours before Nvidia’s conference called GeForce Beyond. This, which starts at 5:30 p.m., should allow the brand to unveil the future GeForce RTX 4000s.
