The next Star Wars series to come after The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi is Andor, with several episodes unveiled August 31, 2022 on Disney+. The official Star Wars Twitter account has finally released the first trailer for the series.
The official Star Wars twitter account has just released the first real trailer for Star Wars: Andor, the next series taken from the saga. Four years after it was first announced, we’re finally about to catch a glimpse of this promising series, which will be coming to Disney+ within a month. If you missed it, Lucasfilm and Disney unveiled a short promotional video several weeks ago, featuring Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly and Fiona Shaw.
A promising new trailer for Andor
The upcoming Star Wars series will focus on the early days of the Empire and its impact on ordinary citizens. It should begin with the traumatic childhood of Diego Luna, after the murder of his father, killed during a demonstration.
This new trailer shows off a grittier take on the Star Wars universe than anything we’ve seen so far, juxtaposing the splendor of the Empire with a burgeoning Rebel Alliance.
Read: Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi will also be in the Andor series
As a reminder, the prequel is set five years before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The series should resume a tense atmosphere full of mystery, as the first teaser unveiled in May suggested. You couldn’t expect less from the show’s creator and writer, Tony Gilroy. The latter had also lent his pen to the writing of the Jason Bourne franchise.
Star Wars: Andor will be available on Disney+ in premiere on August 31, 2022, with two first episodes. Two seasons are planned. The first season will be about Cassian Andor becoming a revolutionary; the first 12 episodes will take us step by step towards the events of Rogue One.
