Arab Summit 2022: Algeria ready, according to Lamamra

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, arrived in New York to take part at the head of the Algerian delegation, in the high-level segment of the 77th session of the General Assembly of the UN, a statement from the ministry said yesterday.

This Tuesday, September 20, 2022, during the consultative meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, highlighted Algeria’s efforts to complete the necessary preparations for holding a successful Arab summit that helps unite Arab countries and strengthen their voice on the international stage, as well as its contribution to addressing current global challenges.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that during the meeting saw the participation of the Secretary General of the League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit. During the latter, the discussions focused on the most important questions of the United Nations General Assembly which concern the Arab question, in particular the Palestinian question.

Lamamra highlights Algeria’s efforts to prepare for Arab summit in Algiers

On this occasion, Minister Lamamra did not fail to underline: “Algeria’s efforts to complete the necessary preparations for a successful Arab summit which contributes to uniting the voice of the Arab countries and strengthening their voice on the international scene , as well as their contribution to addressing current global challenges”.

Finally, the press release also indicates that the Minister of Foreign Affairs had bilateral talks with his counterparts from Norway, Guinea-Bissau, Libya, Serbia and Eritrea. The talks focused on the most important topics on the agenda of this session of the General Assembly in the context of rapid developments on the international scene and the challenges they pose.
