This is how the restoration of the Candelaria station on Line 1 of the CDMX Metro is going
Guillermo Calderón, the director of the Collective Transportation System (STC) announced that the Line 1 tunnel has been scraped and then reinforced with shotcrete and waterproofing, this to prevent water leaks, he even commented that there was change of stained glass windows and floors in the Candelaria station, but that at all times the original design of Félix Cuevas was respected.
In response to this he commented:
“…it is a classified station, protected by INBAL, we did its restoration following strict guidelines.”
In addition, he indicated that structures are being placed in this station to put elevators and thus make it fully accessible to everyone.
