ARD Audiothek reaches smart TVs

The ARD Audiothek is according to the press release now also available on the big screen – i.e. on smart TVs. This means that podcasts and radio live streams from more than 60 public radio stations, which were previously available via the corresponding app and a web version, are also available to you on TVs.

The offers of the ARD Audiothek can be selected via the HbbTV homepage. Here the HbbTV version of the audio library offers a selection of audio contributions: radio plays, thrillers, podcasts, comedy, documentaries, reports and knowledge formats. The podcasts are sorted by category or station. However, they can also be found via the so-called “discovery mode”.

When selected via HbbTV, the live streams of the radio programs are enriched with “visual radio elements”, as the ARD calls it. They therefore offer the user further information. Subscriptions, watch lists and playlists can also be used via the ARD login.

Viewers can also call up the audio library using the red button on the remote control in the HbbTV start bar. The audio library via HbbTV is available in the program of Das Erste and in all third programs of the ARD as well as via ARD alpha, ONE, tagesschau24 and all radio stations that are available via HbbTV.
