FC Barcelona has given Pedri a new contract. From now on, the 18-year-old midfielder is tied to the Catalans until 2026. In addition, according to the club, the Spanish international has a release clause of one billion euros.
In Spain, the clubs are obliged to write a corresponding passage in contracts. In Pedri’s case, the amount stipulated is a deterrent for other clubs and, at the same time, an appreciation for the 18-year-old.
Barça paid 20 million euros for Pedri to UD Las Palmas in summer 2019. Meanwhile, the ten-time national player has multiplied his value. The Blaugrana are now honoring the midfielder’s rapid development with the new contract.
