While DICE will officially unveil its Hazard Zone mode at 5 p.m., many details have been leaked from insider Tom Henderson and have been relayed by VGC. After a mixed beta, DICE hopes to win back the hearts of players a month before the release of Battlefield 2042 with the presentation of Hazard Zone which seems to be an interesting mode if well exploited.
Objectives and extraction to be done as a team
The principle is relatively simple: in servers of 32 players, teams made up of 4 players will compete to recover and extract data contained in satellites shot down on the map. Each objective will be protected by AIs in addition to the danger posed by the opposing teams and the environment since tornadoes can notably occur during the game. A maximum of two extractions should be possible during each game.
Teams that succeed in extracting information from the various locations provided for this purpose will be rewarded with Dark Market Credits, a currency allowing them to purchase weapons, accessories and gadgets for their next games. Downed players can be revived while slain players can be brought back to life with reinforcement links scattered around the battlefield.
DICE said this about Hazard Zone:
“A whole new kind of high stakes team play for the Battlefield franchise. This is a modern take on the multiplayer experience that DICE usually offers, very different from all-out war modes like Conquest or Breakthrough. “
This information should be taken with a grain of salt since the official announcement is scheduled for today at 5 p.m., we will of course keep you informed of the official elements.
