Before the holidays, Elisabeth Borne invites the government to a dinner at Matignon this Wednesday evening

The ministers are required to stay in Paris until Sunday, to “participate in parliamentary work until the end of the session”, after the final adoption of the law on purchasing power and the amending finance law .

The Prime Minister intends to continue her “work of leading the collective”. Elisabeth Borne invites the 41 members of the government – ministers, deputy ministers and secretaries of state – as well as their spouses to the gardens of Matignon for a dinner this Wednesday evening.

A last meeting before the holidays since the last Council of Ministers took place on July 29. In addition, it will be necessary to wait until the beginning of October to find the ministers during questions to the government, the last session, which was particularly tense, having taken place on Tuesday.

A few weeks of vacation

Despite this and despite this end-of-year dinner, the members of the government are not yet on vacation. The ministers are required to stay in Paris until at least Sunday, to “participate in parliamentary work until the end of the session”, after the final adoption of the law on purchasing power and the law of corrective finance. They will be back from vacation on August 24, for a back-to-school Council of Ministers.

Elisabeth Borne also remains at work. This Wednesday, several ministerial visits are planned as well as a trip to the region on Thursday morning, followed by an interview with Étienne de Poncins, French ambassador to Ukraine.
