Hamburger SV gets reinforcements for the midfield center on board. As reported by the Rothosen, László Bénes is moving from Borussia Mönchengladbach to Elbe. The 24-year-old received a contract with the second division club until 2026.
“Laszlo’s signing fits in perfectly with our path and our transfer strategy. Despite his young age, he has already gained a lot of experience, and we now want to push his development forward together. It is certainly not a disadvantage that Tim Walter Laszlo already knows. With his technical and strategic skills, he can help us out of the game as well as in set pieces.”says board member Jonas Boldt about the commitment of the left foot.
New beginning in Hamburg
In the Hanseatic city, Bénes wants to give his career new impetus after another mixed year with the foals with only 311 minutes of action. The technically adept midfielder has never been able to earn a permanent place at Borussia since his five million euro move in 2016.
Benes explains: “I’m already looking forward to getting to know the team and, as an important part, to helping the club achieve its goals. The integration into the team will certainly be quick, as I already know a teammate in Jonas Meffert and also the coach.”
Under the current HSV coach Tim Walter, Bénes experienced his best phase in German professional football during his loan to Holstein Kiel in the second half of 2018/19. The reunification should have a similar effect.
