Breaking clichés – a women’s literature evening

Bludenz. Kollektiv Verlag, led by Rainer Juriatti, who was born in Bludenz, is making a guest appearance in the Alpine town on Monday, September 26th.

“3 authors* 1 evening – breaking clichés” Under this title, books are read that are anything but off the shelf.

The oldest, Ilse Krüger, 82 years old, farmer and philosopher reads from “My year in the forest”. Weighing only 42 kilograms, she operates a heavy chainsaw and cultivates a forest while anger and sadness prevail over the death of her husband. Vera Juriatti, an activist who never tires of giving a voice to star children and their parents, reads from “Two Minutes Only”. Ingrid Maria Kloser also presents lines from her book “Jakob geht heim”. In her story, she sheds light on a special chapter in Vorarlberg’s history: French occupation soldiers brought Moroccan descendants. The children of the occupiers were taboo. In her story, Jakob breaks through the silence that has been cultivated for generations.

The evening will be moderated by the Germanist and art historian Chiara Juriatti. A varied evening with three readings, time and space for exchange and a free drink.
