Activision has announced the Ricochet anti-cheat system for Call of Duty, an anti-cheat that works at the kernel level with the aim of to put a spoke in the wheel of the incorrect players, making life difficult for the latter. But will it be available only on PC or also on console?
Activision itself gives an answer to this question: “Although the kernel-level driver, an exclusive part of Ricochet, will be released for PC, by extension console players playing cross play against PC players will also benefit.“
In fact, then playing console cross play against PC players it will be possible to exploit the benefits of this new anti-cheat, which will not be available natively on console. Ricochet will be updated on the server side and this will guarantee regular and safe updates, with the ability to intervene quickly without forcing users to download large anti-cheat patches.
Ricochet will debut this fall in Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, and will also debut in Call of Duty Vanguard, out on November 5th. On October 14, Activision will unveil the new Zombie mode of COD Vanguard which should also include demons, at least according to the short teaser published by the company earlier this week.
