Very convulsed has been the previous one of the South American Qualifiers towards Qatar 2022, after the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A announced that they were not going to yield to the players selected in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, the Hispanic contest had gone to the Lausanne Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) to ratify its position.
This harms most of the teams that have a large part of their selected distributed in these leagues. Without going any further, the Chilean team could lose up to eight players if this measure was successful.
But a good news received the Red and the rest of the selections during this Sunday. The TAS did not agree with La Liga, denying the requested precautionary measures and advised them that they will have to cede their players to their respective squads.
The determination was celebrated by FIFA, who expressed through a statement that “Welcomes today’s ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejecting the Spanish LaLiga’s request to annul FIFA’s decision to extend the international window for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in South America by two days”.

In this way, Claudio Bravo, Tomás Alarcón and Enzo Roco they will be able to join without problems to the works directed by Martín Lasarte to prepare the eliminatory matches against Brazil, Ecuador and Colombia.
We still need to see the resolutions with the positions of the Premier League and Serie A, but anyway, players like Arturo Vidal and Gary Medel have already arrived in our country, challenging the measure adopted by these European leagues.
