Hard blow for Di Maria and Paris Saint-Germain. The information had gone somewhat unnoticed on June 8, when the Euro football was in full swing, but the disciplinary commission of UEFA decided that day to add two suspension games to the initial sanction that was already aimed at the Argentine. The latter, 33, will therefore miss the first group matches of the 2021-2022 edition against Manchester City, Bruges and RB Leipzig.
The fault, it already goes back to a clash with the Cityzens. It was during the semi-final second leg of this competition and Di Maria, frustrated by the turn of a game that he and his teammates would lose 2-0, was sent off for a violent gesture on Fernandinho.
