Check out the first trailer for Netflix’s new Resident Evil series

We knew it for a few months already, the Netflix platform is preparing a new series inspired by the Capcom license: Resident Evil. No new animated series here like Infinite Darkness, we are talking about a series in “live-action“, with real actors and real actresses, including a certain Lance Reddick in the skin of the antagonist Albert Wesker.

Resident Evil… in 2036?

And after a Welcome to Raccoon City feature film that left its mark on fans, we have to admit that this new Netflix series is eagerly awaited. A series directed by Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) which will focus on the fate of Albert Wesker’s family. Indeed, the action will take place mainly here in 2036, in London, and will focus on the two daughters of this character born with the very first Resident Evil on PlayStation: Jade and Billie.

In all likelihood, the action will take place on two timelines, with on one side the hopeful beginnings of a new megalopolis called New Raccoon Citythen a second reality, 14 years later, when the experiments of Umbrella caused yet another catastrophe.

Remember that the Resident Evil saga has already had many adaptations, with animated series or even animated films, but also many feature films in the cinema, with Milla Jovovich in particular in the cast.

This new Resident Evil series will be available from July 14, exclusively from Netflix, of course. In total, the series will offer no less than 8 episodes, which therefore promise to shed light on many mysteries, with obviously, according to the creators, a real respect for the eponymous games. At first glance, we find there of course Umbrella, but also the zombie dogs, but difficult however to see an obvious affiliation with the Capcom license. So wait and see…
