China rebukes WHO for comments "irresponsible" about their zero COVID policy

BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s Foreign Ministry asked World Health Organization (WHO) director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to avoid making “irresponsible” comments after he said China’s zero-COVID policy would not it was sustainable.

At a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian defended China’s measures in fighting the pandemic, saying China hopes the WHO director-general can see the policies of China’s COVID objectively.
