The Ostseecard gives holidaymakers in Schleswig-Holstein access to the beach and discounts on tourist offers in the region.
With the Ostseecard, holidaymakers from Kiel and ten other places can travel free of charge by bus and train through Schleswig-Holstein and as far as Hamburg from 2022. The prerequisite is that you have booked overnight stays, said the spokesman for Local transport association Schleswig-Holstein, Dennis Fiedel, on Tuesday.
In addition to Kiel, there are: Bad Malente, Bosau, Eutin, Neustadt, Plön, Scharbeutz, Schönberg, Sierksdorf, Timmendorfer Strand and Travemünde. The exact start date for the coming year has not yet been set. The “Landeszeitung” had previously reported on it.
The model project “Carefree on the move” is intended to contribute to sustainable mobility. “It is our aim that trains and buses also become completely natural and popular means of transport for tourists,” said the spokesman. The Ostseecard, which gives holidaymakers access to the beach, will in future also be used as a ticket for buses and trains. For this, guests pay 47 cents more in the spa tax per night. (dpa)
