There are several national players who, with greater or lesser success, passed through the Monumental Stadium and who now play abroad trying to earn a place in the National Team.
Historically, it is normal for players passing through Colo Colo see the institution as a springboard to leave for more economically powerful clubs abroad.
Something that has become more and more popular with the passage of timewhere it is increasingly difficult for a player to remain in a club beyond a couple of seasons.
For the same reason, the list of players who had a stint with the Cacique and who now play abroad is increasingly varied. From the well-known cases of the golden generation, through those who play in South American clubs or Mexicans and reaching increasingly exotic leagues.
Currently there are 15 national players who once wore the alb and who now play outside our latitudes. Some canteranos, others with a brief and almost unnoticed passage through the Monumental, but most trying to earn a place in the National Team.
One of the most talked about cases in recent times is that of Juan Delgadowho with little press has managed to have a more than acceptable career abroad, with stops in Europe and Mexico.
Currently playing as a right back, he does it at Pacos Ferreira in Portugal and has just won a space on the Chilean payroll for the FiFA Date against Morocco and Qatar.
