Florian Dietz spoke about his unexpectedly good start to the season at 1. FC Köln. “Of course it’s crazy and a lot has happened in the last few weeks”says the 24-year-old attacker in the club’s own documentary ’24/7 FC’, “Of course I didn’t expect everything to happen so quickly. Bundesliga game, European game and hit in Europe, that is of course something that you have to process first.”
Dietz, who only signed a license player contract with the billy goats in May and was promoted to the pros, has already played in ten competitive games, seven of them as part of the starting XI. The 1.90 meter tall right foot scored three goals. In July, Dietz played for Cologne’s second team in the West Regional League, just like last season. With 13 goals in 18 appearances, the center forward worked his way into Steffen Baumgart’s team via the Domstädter’s second team.
