CONAIPD and UNHCR deliver construction materials to families affected by storm Julia

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, together with the National Council for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (CONAIPD), carried out this Wednesday, November 23, the delivery of construction materials and household utensils with the objective of providing attention to the emerging needs of people with disabilities and their families, who were affected by Tropical Storm Julia last month.

The donation benefited 15 families, who received sheets, bricks, cement, beds, stoves, refrigerators, among others. The Salvadorans benefited belong to San Salvador, La Libertad, San Miguel, Sonsonate, La Unión and Usulután.

It is worth mentioning that due to the influence of Tropical Storm Julia in the national territory, the Government declared a red alert and a state of emergency for 15 days. The authorities evacuated more than 5,000 people from the risk zone and transferred them to temporary shelters.
