Covid-19: 500,000 appointments made on Doctolib since Olivier Véran’s announcements

This Thursday, the Minister of Health announced the opening to vaccination for a third dose to all over 18s. Doctolib was quickly overloaded.

The number of appointments on Doctolib exploded on Thursday, just hours after the government’s announcements on the generalization of the third dose for the entire adult population. The booking platform counted 500,000 appointments made since the announcements of the Minister of Health Olivier Véran.

In fact, the influx had already started the day before: 360,000 appointments had been made on Doctolib. But this time, the site encountered, throughout the afternoon, difficulties in accommodating the wave of people wishing to make an appointment for its third dose of vaccination.

Little tip

This afternoon, many users reported an inability to connect. The site displays a message stating that “your waiting time is estimated at more than 30 minutes”, often for several consecutive hours and without change.

If, however, you know exactly where you want to make an appointment, we advise you to type this place directly into Google, accompanied by the mention Doctolib. Depending on the location, this ploy can save you long minutes (or even hours) of waiting.
