After the slight increase observed yesterday, the figures for the Covid-19 contamination balance fell once again. While remaining above the symbolic bar of 100 cases, a slight decrease is however noted today, October 14, 2021.
Indeed, Algeria has recorded in the last 24 hours 105 new cases of Covid-19 contamination, says the press release released today by the Ministry of Health. The same source also deplores 2 deaths. In addition, the daily figures for the department of Benbouzid show 77 new healings and 12 new admissions to intensive care units.
These latest figures unveiled by the Ministry of Health bring the total toll of contaminations to 205,005 cases. Algeria has also deplored, since March 2020, no less than 5,864 deaths due to complications related to the virus.
Covid-19: lasting social consequences
Studies carried out in France have shown that the after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the most fragile fringes of society are more lasting than previously thought.
It is the associations for the fight against poverty in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur which have raised a real cry of alarm. They notably pleaded for the creation of a “regional observatory of great poverty” to counter “the social consequences of the health crisis which have proved to be lasting”.
In Algeria, the health crisis only worsened an already serious economic crisis. Citizens are increasingly struggling to make ends meet. The inflationary crisis obviously only makes things worse.
