Former Health Minister Rudolf Anschober, Michael Rüdisser and Johannes Rüf from the Red Cross department in Dornbirn and wildlife biologist Hubert Schatz are guests on “Vorarlberg LIVE” today.

Rudolf Anschober, author, ex-minister of health

In his blog entry from Wednesday morning, the former health minister reports on his reading the night before in Linz: “We have long discussed politics, why reason and composure are becoming less and how we can get out of the crises. Loud blusterers still get the biggest stories. Peace and quiet , reason and balance are less in demand in many media because they have less entertainment value. Part of the problem.” So there is a lot to discuss with the 61-year-old, who is currently in Vorarlberg to present his book “Pandemia” in Göfis on Wednesday evening.

While around 140 volunteers and 17 full-time paramedics are currently on duty around the clock in the Dornbirn rescue department, when it was founded 100 years ago there were just nine volunteers. This weekend the venerable anniversary will be celebrated in the Emma & Eugen Arena at the Haselstauden sports field. The duo reveals details about the upcoming celebrations, but also reports on the situation of voluntary work, which has come under pressure, and the developments since the department was founded.

Hubert Schatz, wildlife biologist in the state of Vorarlberg

Whether it’s wolves in the Vorarlberg border region or the wildcat sighted earlier this week in the Dornbirn mountain village of Ebnit, Hubert Schatz, as an expert, is one of the first to be called. “I don’t completely rule out the possibility that wild cats may never have really become extinct in our country,” Schatz told the UN. The German “Instagram hunters” on the Kanisfluh caused a lot of excitement in the state’s agricultural department in August, VOL.AT reported. Schatz is switched to the studio for an interview with VN editor Magdalena Raos in order to be able to go into more detail on these and other topics.
