At the end of his tour of Europe, President Alberto Fernández once again referred to the intern he stars in with Vice President Cristina Kirchner and assured that “she has a special way of expressing that we listen to her proposals.”
The Head of State acknowledged that “we have always had differences with Cristina. But she is not my enemy. My fight is against Macri, against the right, against those who want to return to the time of unsustainable debt and the virtual bankruptcy of the economy.
“Cristina was president for eight years, I estimate her intelligence. She demands that we listen to her proposals. Just that she has a special way of expressing them,” she added.
The President also spoke about the inflation that is impacting the country, shortly after it became known that the rate for April was 6 percent and that it reached 58 percent in the last 12 months, which represents the highest figure in 30 years The president described it as “an endemic evil” and recalled that “for 15 years it has remained in double digits.”
“When I came to the Government it already reached 54 percent. What Europeans are experiencing is also being experienced by us, but obviously it happens in an economy that is already very down, so the effects are much worse”, said the President.
“In Argentina, inflation has structural causes. Also during the epidemic we issued money like many other countries. And above all this, there is war! ”, He affirmed.
THE CONFLICT IN UKRAINE
Meanwhile, Alberto F. and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, agreed yesterday in Paris on the need to “collectively respond” to the consequences of the war in Ukraine and to “seek to put an end to the Russian attack”, and were convinced that “the world needs more protein; no more missiles”, and “more production and no recession”.
This was expressed in a joint statement that both leaders offered in the entrance courtyard of the presidential Elysée Palace, in the city of Paris, minutes before they share a bilateral meeting.
The coincidences between Fernández -in charge of the pro tempore presidency of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States- and Macron -president of the European Union until June 1- were exposed in that statement to the press, within the framework of the last day of the President’s tour of Europe.
“Thank you very much Mr. President for being in Paris, it is very pleasant to receive you. We are at the time of a war in Europe and it is time to strengthen cooperation and friendship between our countries based on respect for human rights and democratic values,” Macron said.
For his part, Alberto F. said that his presence in France was to “make himself available to see how we can help the world to regain peace” and stated that he was “convinced” that “the world needs more proteins, not missiles. ”.
