Damper for SPD – Greens in second place

For the first time since August: In the “Germany Trend” the Greens are ahead of the Social Democrats. The CDU and CSU lose slightly – but are still more popular with voters.

The Greens have overtaken the SPD in the new ARD “Germany trend”. If there were a federal election next Sunday, the Greens would get 23 percent, two points more than in the previous survey at the beginning of June, as the WDR announced on Thursday in Cologne. The SPD loses one point and only gets 20 percent. The Union is still in first place with 26 percent (minus one).

According to the information, it is the first time since August 2021 – in the middle of the federal election campaign – that the Greens are ahead of the SPD in the “Germany trend”. As in the previous survey, the FDP currently comes to eight percent. The AfD is twelve percent (plus one), the left unchanged at four percent.

The polling company Infratest dimap surveyed 1,248 eligible voters on Tuesday and Wednesday for the “Germany trend”. The statistical error tolerance was given as plus/minus two to three percentage points.
