Darwin Doesn’t Forgive: Doctors Contain Covid-19 in an Anti-Vaccine Event

According to the tabloid The Daily Beast, seven doctors who attended an anti-vaccination event in Florida tested positive for Covid-19. One of them, 71-year-old cardiologist Bruce Boros, developed the severe form of the disease. The denial conference aimed to discuss alternative treatments for the coronavirus, in addition to holding debates against the vaccine.

Dr Boros reported at the event that he and his wife had been taking ivermectin for over 16 months to protect themselves from the disease. Two days after the conference, he and six others were diagnosed with the disease. The FDA posted a post in August stressing that the drug has no proven efficacy against Covid-19.

People close to Dr. Boros, who asked not to be identified, claim that the disease affected him deeply, preventing the doctor from even being able to work. Event organizer Dr John Littell said all those infected, including Boros, are doing well and responding well to ivermectin treatment.

In a post on July 28 of last year, Boros claimed that he took the drug daily without a prescription in a personal study, trying to prove the drug’s effectiveness against the coronavirus. The doctor even attacked Dr. Anthony Fauci, medical adviser to the President of the United States, Joe Biden. He claimed that Fauci would be a fraud and that the pharmaceutical industry would be deceiving everyone, feeding conspiracy theorists deniers.

Boros even criticized his 97-year-old father during the event for going against his indications and deciding to get vaccinated, taking the two doses of the immunizing agent. His father died a few days later, which made the doctor believe that the vaccine would be related. Numerous reliable studies have already proven the efficacy and safety of Covid-19 vaccines.

Drugs such as chloroquine and ivermectin have no proven efficacy against Covid-19 and yet they are defended by some leaders in the world. Jair Bolsonaro, president of Brazil, is one of them, going against the grain of the country’s Ministry of Health.

With Covid-19 re-emerging in full force in countries with low vaccination rates, Austria is voting on new measures including the confinement of unvaccinated people to curb the spread of the virus. Earlier this month, Singapore announced that patients who refuse to get the vaccine will have to pay for medical care.
