Dead Island 2: Rumor indicates the game will be revealed again later this year

Update (08/03/2022) – GS

Dead Island 2 has become a myth in the video game industry, but in recent months, we’ve heard a lot of rumors about the game reenactment it is a possible release by March 2023.

This week, insider Tom Henderson revealed that the game may finally get a new reveal by the end of this year. While it’s unclear exactly when that will happen, a source says that The Game Awards ceremony is the likely stage for the announcement.

Sources with knowledge of the plans surrounding Dead Island 2 say the game will likely be revealed later this year. While an exact date for the game’s reveal hasn’t been provided, the same source said the Game Awards reveal “would make a lot of sense”.

Henderson also spoke a little more about the current state of the game. According to him, the game is in a “decent state” of development and will take place in several different locations. One of the insider’s sources shared some very exciting details, saying that it’s one of the most anticipated games, which makes us even more anxious.

Since my initial report on the YouTube channel, several new sources have come to me to say that the game is in a poor state of development. A source, who has already played the game, said it is “probably one of the most anticipated for me”. The sources also reinforce that the game takes place in several different locations, including Hollywood and San Francisco.

As always, we can only wait to find out if the information is correct.

Ever since Deep Silver announced the development of Dead Island 2 in 2014, fans have been waiting for nothing but an official release date for the game. Although the developer has assured over the years that the title’s development remains ongoing, many have already given up hope that it will ever be released.

At the beginning of the year, rumors that the title could be released by March 2023but it looks like the launch is closer than we thought.

On a recent episode of the Sacred Symbols podcast, host Colin Moriarty revealed that he’s heard that Dead Island 2 might be revealed again soon, with a release scheduled for this year. Moriarty quoted his anonymous source, who told him more details about the game’s development. According to the podcaster’s hunch, the game could be released between September and October of this year.

Considering that Summer Game Fest is coming soon, a new presentation of the game at the event would be the perfect time to reignite players’ curiosity.

Will we finally see the game hitting stores? Or better, will it be that after so long, it will be able to attract attention on the latest platforms?

Last week, Tom Henderson, a renowned gaming industry insider, claimed that the much-delayed title was in the works and shaping up to finally be released this year.

This week, during an Embracer meeting to present the fiscal reports, the Q&A moderator commented on speculation about the game still being alive, unofficially asking about the suspicion that the title will be released in the next fiscal year of company, which ends on March 31, 2023.

The game is clearly alive and I expect it to be released at the very least this fiscal year, or should I say next fiscal year. So that’s a reasonable thing and I expect that from a game that’s been in development for about 10 years.

Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors responded:

I can’t talk about Dead Island 2 because it hasn’t been properly announced by the publisher yet. But we just told you that we have a big game that hasn’t been announced yet… which you think is Dead Island 2, so it’s hard for me to say more about that.

Despite not having confirmed anything directly, the conversation implied that we can certainly have news about the game soon, which is the dream of many fans of the franchise.

Do you still have hopes of playing Dead Island 2?
