Four days after the death of Gaspard Ulliel, Julie Gayet, who was at the Alpe d’Huez Festival when the terrible news was announced, paid him a tender tribute on the set of Telematin, this Sunday, January 23.
On January 19, the sad news fell. Gaspard Ulliel is dead following a skiing accident which occurred the day before in Savoie. The actor leaves behind his partner, Gaëlle Pietri and their son Orso. At the crossroads of two blue runs, the collision between Gaspard Ulliel and another skier occurred around 4 p.m. on Tuesday January 18. When help arrived, the actor was unconscious and motionless in the snow. After first aid given by a station doctor, he was transported to the Grenoble University Hospital, which was unable to save him. His death caused a wave of emotion and tributes had multiplied on social networks, as well as in the media. Martin Scorsese, Xavier Dolan, Guillaume Canet and many others shared their emotion while Jérémie Renier, upset, could not honor his appearance on a Nagui show… On the set of Telematin, this Sunday January 23 on France 2, Julie Gayet spoke about this sudden disappearance of the 37-year-old actor.
“It’s a big shock for the whole cinema”
The death of Gaspard Ulliel is still vivid in the minds of personalities from the cinema. If Julie Gayet remembers “his discretion”, “his kindness” and “his modesty”, his death was “a real shock” while participating in the Alpe d’Huez Festival. “We were all together and we were speechless. Seeing a dad who leaves so young, telling yourself how precious life is. It’s a big shock for the whole cinema”, said the one who came on the show to talk about the Gérardmer Fantastic Film Festival, which starts on Wednesday in the Vosges and of which she chairs the jury this year. In 2021, Gaspard Ulliel was one of the jurors for this event. “Last year, the festival was virtual, he was on the jury. We will think of him, we will have a word for his family”, promised Julie Gayet. “He will be with us a bit, we are a bit stunned. That’s really the word”.
Funerals organized in Paris
The funeral of Gaspard Ulliel will take place in Paris on Thursday January 27 in the morning at the Saint-Eustache church in Paris, as his agent had indicated to AFP.
