Denmark won the Davis Cup series against El Salvador

El Salvador lost 3-2 to Denmark in the series corresponding to the first round of World Group II of the Davis Cup, so the Cuscatleca navy will play the playoff next year due to its permanence in this zone.

The first day of competition left a 1-1, so everything was defined this Sunday with the victory of the Danes in doubles and the victory 6-1 and 6-0 of Elmer Moller against César Cruz in the fifth and last match, which was defined in 47 minutes.

In the third set, the Danes managed a key break to take a 2-1 lead but the nationals failed to reverse the deficit and lost the set 2-6 after suffering a second break.

Marcelo Arévalo tied the series 2-2 by winning the single against Christian Sigsgaard with partials of 3-6, 6-2 and 6-0 duel in which the Salvadoran managed to recover after losing the first set.

For this game, Chelo only had half an hour of rest to face a player with experience on the world circuit and who is in box 818 of the individual ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
