Despite the crisis: FC Bayern fulfills Nagelsmann’s special requests

Julian Nagelsmann is considered a prime example of a laptop trainer. He was supported by a team of analysts from his first two coaching positions in Leipzig and Hoffenheim. The 35-year-old also initiated a kind of digitization at FC Bayern.

Nagelsmann can coach from the private balcony in the future

For example, for a year now all pros have had access to a tactics app where they can watch videos about the next opponent, among other things. However, the usage behavior of the professionals is said to have been limited last season.

In the meantime, the first structural changes to the training ground on Säbener Straße have also been completed: For a week now, Nagelsmann’s trainer’s office has had a private balcony on the first floor, and the associated secret XXL tactical screen was installed on Thursdayhow “picture” reported.

This can therefore only be viewed from a secret spot at the training ground, and of course from the head coach’s office. Nagelsmann should be able to use a laser pointer to give his pros tactical instructions from above.

Nagelsmann has also coached “from above” in Leipzig: At that time, a lifting platform was driven to the edge of the field for him and his assistants. In Munich, the more expensive option was chosen instead.

“A little better every day”: Nagelsmann’s demands are reminiscent of other Bayern coaches

The fact that the extensive and costly innovations have just been completed – in the middle of the first sporting crisis during Nagelsmann’s tenure – is probably coincidence. However, a rather unfortunate after all, Nagelsmann’s strange wishes are very reminiscent of those of another former Bayern coachwho wanted to make “every player a little bit better every day”.

We’re talking about Jürgen Klinsmann. When he took office in 2008, the ex-national coach not only distributed Buddha statues all over the site, but also had his own from the Bayern bosses have a new performance center built. Including library, roof terrace, sofa area and whirlpool. After less than a season, however, Klinsmann was gone again due to lack of sporting success.

At least last season, Nagelsmann proved that he can become a champion with Bayern. Despite the current sporting descent, the Munich bosses are convinced that he can do it again.

And even if not: The record champions were still proud of the state-of-the-art academy even after Klinsmann’s exit (the Buddha statues are gone now). In the same way, the coaching balcony could also become an integral part of the Munich training routine, independently of Nagelsmann.
