Dismembered body found in the Deûle: the identified victim

For several days members of a body had been found in the Lille area.

The macabre discoveries have been linked in the Lille agglomeration in recent days. Several pieces of body were recovered from the Deûle. The body has been identified, it is a man in his forties whose entourage had reported the disappearance for several days, detailed the Lille prosecutor’s office at BFM Lille.

An investigation into the causes of death has been opened. Forensic investigations are continuing to determine the reason for the death and dismemberment of the body.

Several body parts found

For several days, human limbs had been found. The river brigade discovered a human trunk in the Deûle last Friday in Marquette-lez-Lille then a second part of the body was recovered from Saint-André on Tuesday, the prosecutor’s office told BFM Lille.

The firefighters of the North for their part indicated that a leg was fished out by the emergency services in the Deûle on Wednesday, at the quai du Halage, in the town of La Madelaine.

This is the second discovery of its kind in the space of two days, the northern firefighters had specified in a press release.
