In addition to beheading Baron Mordo, Wanda Maximoff nearly killed the Wasp in another version of Doctor Strange 2

Sam Raimi said that: “ Michael had written a first scene with Chiwetel [Ejiofor] where we saw him in our universe, 616, where he was the Mordo we knew from Doctor Strange 1 “. In this scene, Baron Mordo was chasing the Scarlet Witch to get her powers back. He knew how terribly dangerous and corrupted by the Darkhold she was.

Unfortunately for him, Baron Mordo was no match for the fight. ” She killed him and cut off his head. She introduced her to Strange in a later scene “Said Sam Raimi. The Scarlet Witch beheaded Mordo from the first minutes of Doctor Strange 2. Eventually, the production decided to part ways with this scene. Sam Raimi explained why: “ it was super well written, but it slowed down the beginning too much and we had to part with it “.

Instead of the scene with the Scarlet Witch, we had the opening scene in which Doctor Strange of Earth-617 tries to reclaim America Chavez’s powers by sacrificing her. She manages to escape and this Doctor Strange dies. Incidentally, Doctor Strange 2 and The Boys series coincidentally share the same cameo. Finally, Michael Waldron also revealed that Wanda Maximoff nearly killed the Wasp played by Evangeline Lilly later in the movie. This character was ultimately not included in the film.
