Surprising news at Marvel, after the advances of the future of the characters of the House of Ideas for 2023 were the harbingers of an illustrious farewell: Donny Cates (Redneck) and Ryan Ottley (Invincible) they leave Hulk. Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley leave the Hulk series
Suspicion had come in recent days, when Ryan Ottley had shown the cover of Hulk #12, to be released in February, revealing that he is not only the designer but also the screenwriter of the register. Detail that prompted fans to wonder what was the role of Donny Cates, a doubt to which Ottley replied:
No, Donny has moved on to other projects, I’ll be writing the rest of the Planet Hulk story arc. There’s always the possibility that he will return for future stories, but I’m not aware of any future plans. I miss his fantastic storylines, fortunately he has created such a solid narrative foundation that further developing this world is spectacular!
At the moment, in the advances released by Marvel Comics, Donny Cates is still presented as the author of the scripts of the books, despite what was said by Ottley, who later also confirmed his farewell to the Hulk, which will take place with number 14.
Some fans have raised concerns about Cates’ current commitment to the Marvel Universe, so much so that Cates himself felt he had to make his voice heard on this issue through a tweet:
Hi Guys, I’m fine, but I just need to catch my breath and handle several things in life. Anyway, don’t worry, I’m working behind the scenes on something really INSANE…well, you’ll find out when you see it. Love you folks, see you soon!
It does not escape that Cates does not specify what his future projects may be, but it is no mystery that Jason Aaron’s farewell to the Avengers series is concise with a strong suspicion that Cates will inherit the management of the adventures of the Heroes mightiest on earth.
