Bioware has not had an easy last decade, although they regained some confidence after the well-made Mass Effect collection recently. But despite that, the aftertaste of Mass Effect: Andromeda, Anthem, studio closures and scathing criticism from fans is still in the mouths of many. But hopefully Dragon Age 4 will be the proof that Bioware is finally back.
Because that’s how it will be, right? Of course, we do not know yet, but we know that the game’s creative director has officially left the studio in the middle of development. Matt Goldman not only served as director, but is also a 20-year veteran of Bioware, but also Kotaku the departure is now confirmed:
“I hope you are well. I’m writing to inform you all that Matt Goldman is leaving BioWare. We have mutually agreed to part ways, and his last day is today. We understand that Matt’s departure has an impact on you, as well as the game’s development. Rest assured our commitment to a high-quality Dragon Age game has not waivered, and we will not ship a game that is not up to BioWare’s standards. We, including EA’s executive team, have absolute confidence in the leadership here at the studio and the people working on this game to carry forward our vision.”
It is not yet known who will replace Goldman, but we hope that this will not adversely affect development.
