Max Eberl takes over the vacant job as sports director at RB Leipzig. As the cup winner announced, the manager will take up his post as Managing Director Sport on December 15th. The 48-year-old has signed a long-term contract.
Eberl’s working paper at Borussia Mönchengladbach, which was dated until 2026, was terminated for a fee of up to 3.5 million euros. The job has been suspended since January anyway. At that time, the ex-professional had retired for health reasons. His comeback followed less than a year later.
“I’m very happy that we can announce my move to RB Leipzig today. I’m grateful for the time I needed to recover and I feel ready and full of energy again to want to work in football.”explains Eberl.
And further: “I’m coming to a club that has developed rapidly in recent years, is very ambitious and has a clear football philosophy. There is huge potential here – in the entire club and in the entire region.”
The 48-year-old receives at #RBL a long-term contract and will commence operations on December 15, 2022.
In the future, Max Eberl will complement the management team around Oliver Mintzlaff, Florian Hopp and Johann Plenge.
