The Attorney General of the State of Guanajuato reported this afternoon on the arrest of Carlos “N” alias “The M1”, Considered as the successor by José Antonio Yépez Ortiz alias “El Marro”, in the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel (CSRL).
Along with “El M1” another individual identified as “El Avión” was also detained; both allegedly participated in the murder of the three women found on Wednesday of last week in the Campo Azul neighborhood of Celaya, Guanajuato.
Capture “The M1”
“El M1”, originally from Mexico City, was located and captured in Celaya, as was another subject also named Carlos “El Avión”, 29 years old, in an operation by the FGE, the Army, the National Guard and the State Public Security Forces.
“They are involved in the triple femicide of three women in the city of Celaya and in which they were credited with responsibility,” specified the Prosecutor’s Office.
The detainees were seized firearms, chargers, motor vehicles related to various criminal events.
Such apprehensions occurred four days after the arrest of Fernando Emmanuel “El Panther”, indicated by the investigating authority as the operational leader of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel, and successor of José Antonio Yépez Ortiz, “El Marro”, who is being held in the Altiplano prison.
“The M1” was the prime criminal target
During a press conference, Carlos Zamarripa Aguirre, head of the Guanajuato Attorney General’s Office, confirmed that “El M1” and “El Panther” were related to the same criminal group.
He stressed that Carlos ‘N’ was the priority criminal target and one of the main generators of violence, which has arrest warrants from federal authorities and the common jurisdiction.
“Among the criminal history of this criminal is his participation in various events, where more than fifty criminal events of the so-called executions refer to his support, ‘El M1′”. The FGE collected these cards in the various criminal events in which it has participated.
He deployed his criminal activities in Celaya, Villagrán, Juventino Rosas and Cortazar, among other municipalities.
