Facing the presidential election this year, the head of the Civic Coalition (CC) and founder of Together for Change, Elisa “Lilita” Carriówas one of the first references in space to confirm that it will run as candidate to occupy the Casa Rosada.

This was indicated this Wednesday in dialogue with Urbana Play, noting that he plans to review the decision to disassociate himself from politics: “I do not want to be a candidate because I want to win or because I want to be president, but because I have a very clear goal“.

In this sense, the former legislator referred to the internal strength that occupies, firstly, the PRO, and then Juntos por el Cambio, with a wide range of referents who bet on a candidacy.

Given this, ‘Lilita’ remarked that she “would be a candidate for president” because she wants “to achieve the Together for Change unit“, a coalition that brings together both the CC and the PRO and the UCR.

Asked about how the internship would develop if she participated, Carrió announced that -according to her project- this would take place “only with the candidacy for president“While his idea is that single lists can be agreed for the rest of the political positions.

“The idea is to expand the electoral offer and that people can decide who they want to preside over or govern this country, but also to unite and define who can best express the union of Together for Change,” he added along these lines.

Carrió plans to review the decision to disengage from politics

‘Lilita’ Carrió will be a pre-candidate for president

The broad opposition coalition has many names that resonate in the face of the presidential elections, which generates friction between the different referents both within each of the parties and in Together for Change: from Patricia Bullrich, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta or Mauricio Macri for the PRO until Gerardo Morales or Facundo Manes for the UCR, now Carrió hopes to represent the CC in an internal one.

“I worked with many groups, with a very interesting and prepared generation that really wants to change the country. I see a generation with a lot of will, knowledge and transparency“, explained the lawyer regarding why she aims to be a candidate.

And he closed: “If I have to help so that those groups that know the problems really govern Argentina, I can become a candidate, especially to save the conscience of many who do not want to vote for certain candidates,” Carrió concluded in this regard.
