Elon Musk wants to lift Trump’s Twitter ban

After the storming of the US Capitol, Donald Trump’s account on Twitter was blocked. The soon-to-be owner of the social network, Elon Musk, has now announced that he wants to reverse this.

Elon Musk thinks he will reverse the Twitter ban on former US President Donald Trump. The Tesla boss, who wants to acquire the social network for 44 billion dollars, said this at the “Future of the Car Summit”, an event of the “Financial Times” in London. Musk was connected from the USA.

Musk said it was “morally wrong” and “extremely foolish” to permanently impose Trump in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021 storming of the US Capitol. “It was a mistake that alienated a large part of the country.” Musk said former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey shared his perspective.

Trump had been blocked due to several tweets because they were seen as a call for violent protests. Twitter also justified its decision with the fact that the president at the time posed a risk of further violence.
