Elton John to present concert at the White House

Washington DC, United States.- British singer Elton John will perform a concert at the White House where he will be received by the Bidens for a celebration of “the unifying and healing power of music.”

In turn, President Joe Biden and his wife Jill want to praise the life and work of the British pop legend, according to a statement in the hands of the AFP agency.

The White House will invite “those who make history every day” to the Elton John concert, including teachers, caregivers, frontline workers, students, LGBT+ rights activists and advocates for better mental health care.

During the event scheduled for next Friday, the president and his wife will give speeches prior to the live presentation, it was reported.

The concert will take place after a performance by James Taylor, who was at the Washington venue last week, and is part of a return to public events at the White House following restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Elton John celebrated his 75th birthday last spring, and is known for hits like “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, “Your Song”, “Rocket Man” or “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”, but also for his commitment with social causes, in particular in the fight against AIDS. The superstar has sold more than 300 million records worldwide.

The British musician is currently busy with his Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour, which kicked off in Allentown, Pennsylvania in September 2018 and will conclude in Sweden in July next year.
