Enrique Bunbury advances his goodbye

Mexico City.- The Spanish interpreter Enrique Bunbury announced this Saturday the cancellation of his last tour, which had just started in the United States, after giving only two concerts, seeing how his health problems worsened.

“With all the pain in my heart, I have to anticipate what I already saw imminent. It is impossible for me to do more concerts,” he said in an “urgent statement” on his social networks and in which he regretted that “what I thought was going to be controlled , is totally out of my hands and desires”, alluding to his “problems with his throat and breathing”.

On February 28, the leader of the late Héroes del Silencio announced that, as a result of a throat condition that has dragged on for years, he made the “very thoughtful and conscious” decision to leave the stage. He would do it after The Last Tour, through the US, Latin America and Spain.

His tour kicked off on May 6 in New York and continued in Atlanta on the 10th. Two shows that may be the last of his career, which spans 40 years.

“When we announced the concerts of El Último Tour two months ago, we wanted to fulfill the commitments previously acquired, both in the United States and in Spain. With Latin America we were on time, since no agreement had yet been closed. Given the events, we tried reduce both the tour of the USA and that of Spain, while leaving as much time as possible between concerts, to ensure, as much as possible, that the voice could respond.

“Unfortunately, today in Chicago, one day before the show at the Rosemont, we have to announce that we will not be able to continue with the tour. My problems with my throat and breathing increased and returned last night with acuteness.

“At this point we do not consider more cancellations or postpone more concerts. (…) I understand that many bought tickets for a North American tour that was already sold out and a Spanish tour that aimed at the same thing. They will be able to return the tickets where they were purchased. I hope for your understanding at this painful time for me and my team.”
