Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández contributed a goal today in Benfica’s 4-0 win over Arouca, in the match that kicked off the 2022-2023 season of the Portuguese soccer league, played at the Da Luz Stadium.
Fernández, a newcomer to the Portuguese club from River Plate, scored his team’s third goal, 49 minutes into the first half, with a strong right foot from the edge of the area that passed between the rival goalkeeper’s legs.
The other goals from Benfica, which also had Argentinian defender Nicolás Otamendi from the start, were scored by Gilberto and Rafa Silva, on two occasions.
