European Union also condemns murders of Jesuits

Mexico City.- The European Union in Mexico condemned on Tuesday the murders of the two Jesuit priests in Chihuahua, and urged the authorities to clarify the facts.

“We express our condolences and all our solidarity with their families and community at this painful time,” he said in a statement.

“We call on the competent Mexican authorities to deploy all the necessary efforts so that there is justice and that this crime does not go unpunished.”

The priests Javier Campos Morales and Joaquín César Mora Salaza were murdered this Monday inside a church in the community of Cerocahui, in the Chihuahuan Municipality of Urique, and their bodies were taken by armed individuals.

In a conference from the National Palace, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported that the execution occurred after a man pursued by an armed subject took refuge inside the temple, but the perpetrator attacked him as well as the two priests who were in the place .
