Carluis Cuyutupa, a businessman dedicated to the field of gastronomy, denounces that for the past two weeks he has been extorted by individuals who claim to be members of “Los Gallegos del Tren de Aragua.” They ask him to pay S/3,300 a month so they can let him work in peace.
“At the beginning it was a message, some calls and we were afraid and we cut them off. That was on November 8 when it started. Then they did it again on the 18th. That day it was more constant, from 4 am they started calling. It is at 9 am that the staff answers and they ask for the owner. That’s where they tell me they’re calling back and I tell them not to listen.”he told América Noticias.
According to the aforementioned outlet, the extortionists argue that they have full control of Santa Anita and that they are also extorting other businessmen. “Brother, the head of the Gallegos of the Tren de Aragua here in Lima is speaking to you directly.”is heard in one of the audios that the victim received via WhatsApp.
Faced with constant threats, Cuyutupa went to the Depincri in Ate-Santa Anita to file a complaint on November 18. In the place he found out that that same day six other people went to denounce the same thing.
“They are very insistent, they have even chosen to make video calls. I’m very worried. I ask the authorities for more security, that the Police visit us, that they pay attention to us”, he pointed.
He indicated that if the situation continues like this, he will have to close his business. “If they continue like this, we have talked with my family that we are going to retire. Where are we going to get S/3,300 if things are low?
