Fell at work – was impaled by a steel bar

Turkish Celal Sayar (39) works as a construction worker in Giresun, which is located in the north of Turkey.

Recently, while he was at work, things went really wrong.

Sayar accidentally fell on a steel bar, and the bar went straight into his face by the nose, writes the local newspaper Ankara Masasi.

Almost hit the brain

The man survived the accident and was immediately transported to a local hospital.

The X-rays taken of Sayar on Saturday showed that he had been lucky.

The steel rod was a few centimeters from hitting his brain, but the rod had “only” passed through his cheekbone and stopped behind his eyes.

In the photo of Sayar from the hospital at the top of the case, you can see the thick steel rod sticking out of the man’s right cheek.

Removed by surgeons

After treatment at the local hospital in Giresun, Sayar was then transported to a specialist at Samsun Training and Research Hospital, writes New York Post.

Here, the 39-year-old was treated in the intensive care unit after the accident.

The steel rod has now been removed by surgeons, but nothing more has been reported about the man’s current condition.
